ATTENDANCE- What to do if your child is absent

For your child’s absence to be excused, you must phone first thing in the morning to the school office 812-398-3851 or email [email protected]. Also, send in a doctor’s excuse upon return (if they went to a doctor, dentist, etc.) Emailing your teacher is fine as courtesy to the teacher but the office needs to be called so they can be excused.

Please remember: Students are not to stay in the building after school for any reason unless supervised by a coach or designated adult. For home games, no athletes should be at the school before 5pm.

Athletes MUST wear a mask on the bus while traveling to opposing schools.

Morning drop off procedures: Students can be dropped off at the front entrance of the school each morning between 7:45am and 7:55am. Please pull up to the curb and allow your child to exit the car on the curb side. All students need to be in class by 8am.

Afternoon pick up procedures: All students who will be picked up will be assisted by staff to your vehicle at the back of the school on Lewis street. We ask that you have your child’s name clearly marked on a sign displayed in the front windshield. Please be patient at the beginning of the school year as we get to know who rides in which vehicle. This is for the utmost safety of your child.

Late arrival: If your child arrives late to school, he/she must be signed in by a parent or guardian in the front office. If your child has been to a medical appointment, please bring a doctor's note to excuse absence.

No student is allowed to ride the bus home with a friend this year. Due to COVID-19, we must restrict bus activity to only those required to ride that bus. Transportation to and from day care is acceptable as long as that is their normal routine.
